Hello World!

My name is Dimitri Korsch.

Who am I?

I am working as research associate at the Computer Vision Group of Friedrich Schiller University of Jena.

And if "Yes", how many?

Previously, I received my M.Sc. and B.Sc. in IT-Systems Engineering at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam.

Currently, I work a lot with deep learning tools like chainer or tensorflow. Furthermore, my research topics are about reinforcement learning and fine-grained classification.

Do You have time to talk about Python?

I am an enthusiastic Python programmer, since it is easy to write, easy to read easy to use even for bigger software projects. As a computer vision researcher, I use a lot of numpy, scipy and matplotlib. Together with different deep learning frameworks they are really powerfull tools different computer vision tasks. Nevertheless, I also familiar with the Django web framework. You can find some of my open source code below.

Chainer Addons

Some helpful addons for the Chainer deep learning framework.

argparse wrapper with GPU and logging presets

C++ and python code for stable (without clipping of the image content) rotation of images with opencv

Forked from Bartzi: Django Tool that helps to manage and monitor the usage of GPUs on different servers

Minimal web application to store some RDF(S) content in an sqlite database and query SPARQL statements on this database
